Trend Tracking | Inspired by J.W. Anderson
In a previous post I highlighted the collaboration between J.W. Anderson and the landscape artist John Allen to create intarsia sweaters which are not only unique and beautiful but wearable as well. Seems J.W inspired a new trend...

Spring 2016 | Tommy Hilfiger
Tommy Hilfiger
LOVE! Did I just say that about Tommy Hilfiger? Yes...yes, I did. A mash-up of Hawaiian inspired prints mixed with Calico floral pleat insets, stripes which winked at their Rastafarian roots, and maxi dresses with delicate crochet accents in dozens of iterations paraded down the runway on every of-the-moment model. This was a collection of exuberance punctuated with exquisite workmanship and expensive looking materials. Is it possible that someone finally learned how to make crochet bikinis relevant and dare I say, wearable? Even after 59 looks, I still wanted more.

Trend-Tracking: Riding the Celine Rib Train
Celine's Phoebe Philo has clearly liked the architectural modernity that a sleek rib sweater can convey in the past few seasons. Hers is of the squishy, synthetic variety sculpted with a techy viscose/polyamide blend yarn which allows the sweater to bounce and vibrate against the body rather than vacuum sealing it like a piece of beef jerky.
Ribs not only can be tricky to wear, they're often overlooked as outfit completers, unobtrusive and uninspiring, but as of late they have been the unsung standouts in many a designer's collection; most notably in dresses with beautiful rib transfers and floaty ease in fresh shades of white. OK, so maybe white rib dresses aren't so easy to wear and these are more than a bit derivative of someone else's vision but they just look so good...
